Vue Consulting has launched a new addition to its suite of training experiences – an online participant journal. The journal is a free inclusion in every Vue Consulting training experience and available for all participants and clients. Each of Vue Consulting’s training experiences includes a three month follow-through process. This process now asks participants to update their experiences, progress on learning goals and implementation work into a brief online journal. The journal takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and is updated by participants monthly, three times during the follow-through process. Vue Consulting’s Managing Director, David King, noted that “The challenge in every corporate training scenario is to help participants take ideas from the training environment and then implement them into the real world. While we already utilise a range of best practices in this critical “follow-through” period, the addition of an online journal further supports participant accountability and action”. Vue Consulting then monitors journal updates for noted learning hurdles, implementation obstacles and training feedback. David King noted that “Line managers or business owners are then sent a copy of the online journal with Vue Consulting’s notes to provide additional on-the-ground coaching and mentoring for participants...and without any additional costs or expenses”. This 360 feedback process provides participants with additional training support and boosts accountability for the commitments to new skills they make during the training experience. The online journal further demonstrates Vue Consulting’s value-added approach to training and its commitment to ensuring new training skills are retained in the business for the long-run.
