TRAINING CONTENTThe training experience is broken into two parts - Referral Process modules which help participants implement core referral strategies into their client experience and Advanced or Industry modules which expand or enhance the By Referral experience. The Referral Process modules comprise four hours of Workshops and six weeks of implementation. All participants undertake the Referral Process modules although examples and ideas are customised for each industry. DELIVERY OPTIONSThere are several ways to obtain By Referral, depending on your circumstances. Note that every delivery method is based on the same content. The difference is only in the delivery. For Workshops, there are four main alternatives. Workshops are best suited to 8-12 participants, although we can conduct Workshops for groups as large as 30-40 participants for Conference situations.
FAQHow industry specific is By Referral? The main By Referral training is not industry specific. Referrals, however, are themselves most effective industries with medium sized client bases. Industries with very large client bases - say, many retail stores - generally work off price or brand promotion and their referral strategies are mass market. Industries with very small client bases - say, investment banking - rely more on relationship management as potential clients are well known and identifiable. Referrals work the best in industries with medium client bases which involve significant trust issues and limited advertising potential - financial planners, accountants, consultants, designers, solicitors or real estate agents for example. Are there industry specific versions of By Referral? Sort of. The Referral Process modules of By Referral are the same for any industry – they are key referral foundations that are required no matter what you do. The Industry or Advanced Modules, however, vary greatly between industries – this is the beauty of a modular training system. We have a pretty good idea which modules suit which industries. In addition, we have templates and examples of most processes for most industries. If we are missing something, we can create it. Plus we will be using your own materials and likely creating at least one specific client handout for use in your business. Why do you limit the number of participants in By Referral Workshops? By Referral is part Workshop, part Coaching. Each participant creates their own Referral Action Plan with application to their own clients, business and personality. There are no generic role-plays or case studies. As a result, there are group discussions and real-life application of the strategies. With too many different participants, the Workshop loses this coaching quality and becomes just another lecture. In an ideal environment, experience reveals that less than 20 participants is an optimal number for this experience. What sort of hand-outs do participants receive? Participants in a By Referral workshop receive a bound Workbook with the presentation slides and accompanying notes, a bound Referral Action Plan, various colour handouts and examples. The business often receives mock-ups of client handouts, referral branding ideas, client letters, checklist suggestions and more. How does the follow-up email course work? Participants receive one email every week for 3-months. Each email revisits a key topic from the course and suggests a number of action steps for the participant to undertake to make sure that part of the training has actually been implemented. These emails are tied into the follow-up Action Plan. Each email is relatively short, just covering key points and moving onto the action steps as quickly as possible. Management can use the emails at team meetings to help in their overview of the implementation and keep the topic alive for several months. The email follow-up course is included in the cost of a By Referral Workshop.
